If you never been to the Rivera Maya Cancun, you need to get it on your list of must do destinations. As frequent travelers to Mexico, this was our first time to Cancun and we loved it! Beautiful waters – beaches, amazing food and incredible culture is just a few of the things you will enjoy while making memories at Riviera Maya Cancun.
Beautiful Waters – Beaches
The waters are the bluest of blues, warm and welcoming like
a personal invite to jump right in! A
morning walk along the beach was one of the most pleasant experiences of the
trip. There is a lot of talk about the
large amounts of seaweed lining the beaches, but while there was some, it
wasn’t enough to inhibit our experience.
There is nothing better than walking through the waves with sand between
the toes and warm water rushing across my feet.
If you are looking for more of an adventure, then you definitely want to
sign up for some of the many great excursions being offered in and around the
Rivera Maya Cancun.
Excusions
When in the area, a trip to Isla Mujeres is a must-do. We experienced it on a full-day trip on a catamaran and it was so much fun. Cruising across the water, enjoying cocktails and enjoying a beautiful sunny day – what could be better! Our trip included a cruise around the island, snorkeling, swim and relaxing on the beach. We also enjoyed a wonderful buffet lunch featuring some amazing local food.
- Mayan Culture Experience
A day trip to Chichen Itza gave us an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the culture of this area. It was a warm day, a lot of walking but with our great guide, we learned so much. Standing in front of the pyramid, we couldn’t help but feel the power and if you clapped your hands in unison, you could hear the ancient call of the birds. Our day included a visit with a Shaman, an amazing lunch which included tequila tasting and amazing dancing, a tour of Chichen Itza, a swim in a cenote and finally a quick walkthrough of Valladolid. It was a long day but worth every minute of the time we spent.
- Shopping/Dining
Grab a cab and head downtown Cancun to enjoy
some shopping, tequila tasting and lunch at Mercado 28. Be sure to ask for Lupita and she will give
you a great tour of some of the best shops.
WE got to experience some amazing tequila and a wonderful lunch right
next door. The shopping area was great,
selection deep and bartering was in full swing.
There is something for everyone and an inexpensive way to bring home a
piece of the Mexican culture to friends and family.
Grand Oasis Cancun
If you want a great place to stay, look no further. This all-inclusive resort is located right on the ocean with so much to offer. There is always something to do, great restaurants to explore and the longest swimming pool which goes the whole length of the property. Swim from one end of the pool to the other with amazing swim-up bars. If you are looking for more of an ocean beach experience, then be sure to grab a cabana either on the best or in the Oasis Beach Club. Need a quick nap or a chance to kick back and relax? Grab one of the many hammocks set in this amazingly beautiful tropical setting. The entertainment on the property is fantastic! Check out the Red Casino, Red Circus, Kinky’s, Havana Night Club and so much more.
Making Memories at Riviera Maya Cancun
We had such a great time exploring the Riviera Maya Cancun. As fans of Mexico, this was our first trip to Cancun and we loved it. Grand Oasis Cancun was the perfect choice because it was all-inclusive and there was so much to do right on the property. I would recommend choosing the VIP package so you can experience everything without exception. We also had free access to paddleboards, kayaks, and other amenities just across the street. Truly a great experience for family, couples or singles looking to have some adventure and relaxation!
